Questions About Family or Pediatric Dentistry?

Below is a list of some of the questions we get asked most frequently from our patients. If you have a question that isn't answered below, feel free to give our Rowlett, TX dental practice a call and we'll be happy to assist you.

What happens if I miss a scheduled dental appointment?
If you need to cancel your appointment, please give our office at least 48 hours notice so that another patient in need of care may be seen. If a patient does miss an appointment and does not give the appropriate notice, our policy is as follows…

  • 1st missed appointment– Someone from our office will notify you of your missed appointment to determine if there were any extenuating circumstances.
  • 2nd missed appointment – A fee of $45 will be charged to you. It WILL NOT be billed to your insurance.
  • 3rd missed appointment – At this time, the patient will be dismissed from the practice.

How do I obtain my records if I need to transfer to another dental office?

Though we hope to retain all of our patients, there are times that patients must be transferred to another dental office. A perfect example of this is if a family is moving to another town or state, and we are no longer a convenient location for them to receive their dental care. If this situation arises, we ask that you sign a release so that we may share your information with your new dental office.  We are willing to print your records or transfer them electronically.  In some cases there may be a one time fee of $25 for this service.

What dental insurances do My Mouth Dental and My Kidz Dental accept?
My Kidz Mouth Dental and My Mouth Dental accept and are in network with a number of dental insurances. They include the following…
Delta Dental PPO/Premiere
Cigna PPO
Ameritas PPO
Humana PPO
Prinicipal PPO
Guardian PPO
Assurant PPO
Met Life PPO
Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO
Aetna PPO
United Concordia PPO
United Health Care PPO
We also accept Texas CHIP and all three plans of Medicaid (Delta Dental, MCNA and Dentaquest).

It is as a courtesy to our patients that we file to these dental insurance companies. It is not always a guarantee of payment. Any outstanding balance after the insurance payment is made is the patient’s responsibility.
If I am covered by 2 different insurances, I will not have any out of pocket cost, right?

Even if a patient is covered by more than one dental insurance policy, there will usually be some out of pocket cost for treatment.  Usually preventive care like cleanings, exams, and x-rays is covered 100% by insurance, but today that may not be true.  Often, the patient will need to pay an insurance deductible that may apply even to preventive care.

If a patient has 2 policies, one will be primary and will pay first.  The second policy (secondary) will only pay a percentage of what is left after the primary policy has paid.

At this time, My Mouth Dental is happy to accept your primary insurance and will also provide you with any information that you may need to file on any secondary policy that you may have.
